My reading list for the month.
Weyward by Emilia Hart.
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley. Weyward By Emilia Hart follows the story of three women from the same Weyward family – Altha, Violet, and Kate. In 2019, Kate ran away from an abusive relationship and found solace in an old cottage in a small village that she inherited from her great Aunt Violet. The story follows the journey of these three Weyward women in different centuries, and Kate uncovers her family’s past. This story is really intriguing. It has a gothic, fantasy vibe mixed with historical, and I am excited to read it.
Wait For You by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
Wait For You by Jennifer L. Armentrout is a romance book. Avery has purposely chosen college thousands of miles away from home. She wants to keep the past where it belongs and start fresh where no one knows her. Cameron is charming, and Avery knows she should stay away from him, but she is drawn to him. As Avery and Cameron come closer, her past secrets threaten to surface with someone sending threatening emails and calls to her. This new adult romance is something I want to finish reading over a weekend and unwind.
The Duchess of Malfi by John Webster.
The Duchess of Malfi by John Webster is a revenge tragedy play. The Duchess, recently widowed, falls for a steward Antonio. Both of them get married but keep it a secret. They have three children together. The Duchess’s brothers Ferdinand and Cardinal are against her remarrying because it threatens their inheritance. This leads to a revenge plot against the Duchess, which doesn’t end well. I had read this play for a literature class. I went over it in a hurry so, I don’t remember many of the things from it. So, this time I am going to read it and take my time with it.
