My reading list for the month of May.
The Baker’s Secret by Lelita Baldock.
I received a copy of The Baker’s Secret by Lelita Baldock from Netgalley. This book is a historical fiction novel set during World War II. The story follows two sisters whose life change when Nazi forces occupy Latvia. The historical aspect of course, and the focus on the Latvian struggle during the war is something that intrigued me about the book. It seems the timeline will shift between the past and the present as the story unfolds.
Empress of the Fae by Briar Boleyn.
Empress of the Fae by Briar Boleyn is a dark fantasy romance novel, which is the third book of her Blood of the Fae series. Morgan has left Kairos Draven and his empire behind and returned to Camelot. But Kairos won’t let go of her so easily. With her country at war and without Kairos by her side; she will have to take her next steps carefully. I read and loved Queen of Roses and Court of Claws, so I can’t wait to start reading the third book.
The Music On The Hill by Saki.
The Music On The Hill by Saki is a short story. I have heard of Saki but never read any of his works before, so this is a first. The story is about a couple who seemingly have to deal with some ancient forces when they move to the country. It seems like it will be a dark-humor type of story; it definitely appears to be an interesting read.
