Happy New Year Everyone!

My reading list for this month.

The Book of Azrael by Amber Nicole.

I received a copy of The Book of Azrael by Amber Nicole from NetGalley. It’s been on my shelf for some months now, sadly. No more putting it on the back burner, and I am going to finally read it this month. Dianna gave up her life to a monster thousands of years ago to save her sister. Now, she has to do what Kaden asks. Liam, a.k.a Samkeil is a myth of a savior or a destroyer; he has hidden away from everyone and everything since God’s wars. Now with attacks on his dear ones, he is forced to come out of hiding. This fantasy romance just sounds so promising, I can’t wait to start reading it.

The Duchess of Malfi by John Webster.

The Duchess of Malfi by John Webster is a revenge tragedy play. The Duchess, recently widowed, falls for a steward Antonio. Both of them get married but keep it a secret. They have three children together. The Duchess’s brothers Ferdinand and Cardinal are against her remarrying because it threatens their inheritance. I had planned to read this play in December. Although I have started it, I am nowhere close to the end. With the language and plot, it becomes too heavy to read at a stretch. So, I’ll be finishing it this month.

The Gray Champion by Nathaniel Hawthorne.

I haven’t read anything written by Nathaniel Hawthorne before. Though, his works remain on my reading list. So, I thought starting with a short story is a good way to familiarize yourself with the writer’s style of writing. I haven’t started reading this yet, but I think it follows the story of a man, who shows up when the town needs him.
