This is my 200th blog post. A good time to start something new. It has been really difficult for me to keep a track of the books I want to read. I tried writing them down and then couldn’t find the journal I had made the lists on. With Goodreads, I have been having an issue logging in through the app for months so that’s out of the question. From this month onwards, I am going to post the list of my TBR books right here. This way I feel I’ll be able to track and make changes pretty easily without losing my list of books I want to read.
Normal People by Sally Rooney.
Normal People by Sally Rooney has a premise that seems intriguing and realistic. The story follows Connel and Marianne’s characters for a few years. Set in Ireland post-2008, it brings these two characters in and out of each other’s lives throughout their college years. I am very excited to read this book whenever the time actually comes.
Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller.
Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller ticked a lot of boxes for me in terms of what I like to read. It is based on Greek mythology, an adaptation of Homer’s Iliad. The book is told from the point of view of Patroclus, who is presented as a suitor for Helen of Troy. The book has mythological and historical elements woven with a romance between Patroclus and Achilles.
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black.
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black is the first novel in her fantasy series The Folk of the Air. The book follows an orphaned Jude, who was taken away with her sisters to live in the High Court of Faerie and the youngest son of the King, Prince Cardan. The novel is a blend of fantasy, romance, and court politics. I am curious to know how the story unfolds.
The Bridgerton Series
I loved the TV Series Bridgerton based on Julia Quinn’s books. There are 8 books total in the series, one for each of the Bridgerton siblings. I have seen the show so, books 1 and 2 but I am still going to read them because there will be a difference in the adaptations. This historical romance is right up my alley and I think when I do get to it, I’ll enjoy reading them.
