Currently Reading (April ’26). #TheLordsUnlikelyBetrothal #NetGalley

My reading list for the month of April.

The Lord’s Unlikely Betrothal by Ella Matthews.

I received a copy of The Lord’s Unlikely Betrothal by Ella Matthews from NetGalley. This historical romance book is the third edition of the Dashworth Brothers Series from the author. It follows Lord Christopher Dashworth and Miss Sophia Jacobs, who find themselves in a scandalous situation. They decide to get married to avoid any backlash in society and save their family’s reputation. This leads to an unlikely romance between them.

The Gold Bug by Edgar Allan Poe.

The Gold Bug by Edgar Allan Poe is a short story. It’s set on Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina. This story follows the character of William Legrand. He is from a wealthy family but has fallen on hard times. I enjoy Poe’s writing, so there is no other reason to pick this story.

Heidi by Johanna Spyri.

Heidi is a classic children’s fiction book. The story follows a young orphan girl named Heidi who is sent to live with her grandfather in the Swiss Alps. She comes to love the nature and pace of the mountain life and even befriends a goatherd and his grandmother. I remember loving this story as a child, but I had the illustrated version, so it was not a complete story. Now, I’ve got my hands on a paperback of the book, and I am really excited to read it.
