My reading list for this month.
Wicked Beasts by Shelley Leigh Crane.
I received a copy of Wicked Beasts by Shelley Leigh Crane from NetGalley. This book is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, combined with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. This combination immediately intrigued me, especially with the combination of inspiration. The story follows Amara Rose, who gets a new job at a huge old manor as a personal assistant. She is immediately intrigued by her new boss, but the manor itself has gothic vibes. I am excited to read it.
An Offer From A Gentleman by Julia Quinn.
It’s Bridgerton season. Since I am too impatient to watch the show with a gap of weeks, I have decided to read An Offer From A Gentleman by Julia Quinn in the meantime. This book is actually the third instalment of the series and follows the story of Benedict Bridgerton. Sophie is the illegitimate daughter of a nobleman; she works as a maid after her father’s death because of her stepmother. Benedict and Sophie meet at a masquerade ball and have a wonderful night. Years later, they meet each other again. This story is like a Cinderella retelling, and I am definitely intrigued to read it.
The Skylight Room by O’ Henry.
The Skylight Room is a short story written by O’ Henry. The story follows Miss Leeson, who rents the smallest room at a boarding house because it’s the only one she can afford. This room is located on the top floor, is small, and has a skylight in it. For me, it’s really easy to pick another story by O’ Henry because I have always enjoyed them. I am sure this one will be no different.
