Books I Read in 2025: My Favorites

I read a lot of amazing books this year from different genres and explored some new authors, too. It’s always difficult to pick just a few books that I really liked, but here they are.

Knockemout Series by Lucy Score.

I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading the first book of Lucy Score’s Knockemout series, Things We Never Got Over. I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed the story. Things We Hide From The Light was the next in the series. I really liked it, and then came Things We Left Behind, the last book of the series. Each story had different tropes of romance and how the characters find their happy ending. It’s a fun contemporary romance series that I loved reading.

Of Silver & Sin by Kaytalin Platt.

Of Silver & Sin by Kaytalin Platt is a fantasy romance book I received from NetGalley. The book had romance, adventure, and action that I did not expect. It kept me hooked from the start, and I loved how it unfolded. The characters were intriguing, and their chemistry was amazing, as were the fantasy elements. I enjoyed every moment of reading this story.

Lead Me Not by A. Meredith Walters.

Lead Me Not by A. Meredith Walters is a romance book that deals with difficult themes. You feel connected with the characters and root for their individual journeys and their romance. For a YA, it tackles addiction in quite a realistic manner, and both leads are strong characters. It gets a little difficult to read at times, but it keeps you interested from the beginning. Maxx and Aubrey’s story does not end happily in this book, but there is a sequel. I loved reading this book.

The Songbird & the Heart of Stone by Carissa Broadbent.

The Songbird & the Heart of Stone by Carissa Broadbent is a dark fantasy romance book. It was a wonderful read from start to finish. You can relate to the characters of Asar and Mische, who seem so different than each other, but have more in common than you can imagine. This book has romance, adventure, and emotional intensity as both these characters have a difficult past. The twist at the end of this book was so unexpected, and I loved reading this book.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare.

A romantic comedy play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, by William Shakespeare. It was chaotic and funny; there are no other words to describe it. Language-wise, it’s tough to read, but the story is so chaotic and absurd that it keeps you interested. The many protagonists and their antics with elements of fantasy made it such a fun read.
