My Favorite Book Quotes (Part 4).

This blog is the fourth part of the My Favorite Book Quotes blog series. It’s been more than a year since I added a post to this series, so here it is.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare is a whimsical romantic comedy play. This quote fits in perfectly with the witty and weird things that are going on in the play. It offers an insight into the characters’ love stories. I enjoyed reading this play, and I really like this quote because it is poetic and suits the context completely.

After Twenty Years by O. Henry.

After Twenty Years by O’ Henry is a short story. I enjoy O’ Henry’s stories, and this was no different. This quote perfectly matches the tone of the story and also foreshadows the characters’ journey in the last twenty years. One sticks to the straight path in life, while the other chooses criminal activities to make a living. I thought this quote kind of encompasses the individual journeys through speculation, which is why I like it.

The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin.

The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin is a short story that completely surprised me. I like this quote because it marks a change in her character. She is shocked by her husband’s sudden death, but at this point, she starts to realize that now she will get to live for herself. She has never really lived for herself, always thinking of her husband and the expectations of being a wife. This quote marks a change in the story, as she starts envisioning a future where she gets to live how she wants.

Things We Left Behind by Lucy Score.

Things We Left Behind by Lucy Score is the last book of the Knockemout series, and I really loved it. The second-chance romance elements really highlight this quote for me. Lucian and Sloane endured something in their teenage years that changed the course of their lives. They clearly held a soft spot for each other all these years, but this quote finally acknowledges the gravity of it. All those moments they spent together were the best parts of Lucian’s life.
