Currently Reading (September ’25). #TheEnemysDaughter #NetGalley

My reading list for the month of September.

The Enemy’s Daughter by Melissa Poett

I received a copy of The Enemy’s Daughter by Melissa Poett from NetGalley. This is a fantasy romance novel that retells the tale of Tristan and Isolde, set in a dystopian world. The story follows Isolde and Tristan, two individuals from opposing clans. When Isolde, a gifted healer, decides to take a risk to save injured soldiers, she ends up falling into the clutches of Tristan. To heal herself, she accepts a magical cure from Tristan, binding them together forever. The premise sounds promising, and I am excited to read a retelling of Tristan and Isolde.

Things We Left Behind by Lucy Score

Things We Left Behind by Lucy Score is a contemporary enemies to lovers romance in a small town book. This is the third and final book of the Knockemout series. This story focuses on Lucian and Sloane. These two were close in childhood, but one incident tore them apart. Now, they are sworn enemies. I have been excited to read Lucian and Sloane’s story since the first book. There is definitely chemistry between these two characters, and I am very intrigued to know what happened to them in the past.

The Blind Man by D. H. Lawrence

The Blind Man by D. H. Lawrence is a short story. The story follows a war veteran, Maurice Pervin, who has returned home to his wife after being blinded in combat. Maurice is a World War I veteran and is now adjusting to life back home after being wounded. This story sheds light on many Britons who returned from World War I due to trauma and their experiences. I haven’t explored much of the work by D. H. Lawrence, but the few stories I have read, I have enjoyed them.
