My reading list for the month of April.
Blood Iron and Bone by Sera Foxe
I received a copy of Blood Iron and Bone by Sera Foxe from NetGalley. This book is the first book of the Lightbringers series. The story follows a mortal girl Aurelia, who hears sounds at night and feels compelled to find its source. Meanwhile, in another world, Andar is betrothed to another girl and awaits the fulfillment of a prophecy. This fantasy romance book intrigued me from the get-go, because of its unique premise. It has fantasy, romance, and adventure vibes which I usually enjoy. A story with Fae and humans, as well as a prophecy, I am looking forward to reading this book.
Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score
Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score has been on my reading list for a long time. I am excited to finally read it. The story follows Naomi, who runs away from her wedding to rescue her estranged twin. She ends up in Knockemout, Virginia, and her whole life turns upside down. She becomes the caretaker of her 11-year-old niece, she didn’t know she had. Knox is her grumpy neighbor who stays away from complications. Still, he is drawn to Naomi and her chaotic life. This contemporary romance novel is the first book of the Knockemout Series. I can’t wait to start reading it.
The Open Window by Saki
I enjoyed reading The Music on the Hill by Saki, so I picked up another of his short stories, The Open Window. The story follows Framton, who decides to move to a new town as to cure his nerves. His sister knows someone there and arranges a meeting between Framton and Mrs. Sappleton. This story has gothic supernatural and horror elements. I am extremely intrigued to read this story.
