These are the books I have added to my TBR this month. I have been finding a lot of good fantasy romance books lately on Kindle Unlimited that are intriguing. Some books are a continuation of a series I started and loved, but the following books kind of slipped my radar.
Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness
Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness is a fantasy romance that is the second book of her All Souls Trilogy. I started reading the first book, A Discovery of Witches after watching the TV series based on the book series. I loved the first story and it ended on a cliffhanger. In this book, Diana and Matthew travel back in time to the 15th Century, the Elizabethan Age in London. These two are on a quest to find the Ashmole 782 manuscript. They have to navigate Tudor London and meet interesting characters.
The Bell Jar by Slyvia Plath
The Bell Jar is a semiautobiographical novel by Sylvia Plath. It follows the story and dives deep into the mind of Esther Greenwood, who is living in 1950s America. I have studied Plath’s poems in college; I have a copy of this book. I tried reading it a few years ago, but I think it was too much for me to process back then. I remember that I enjoyed reading it, but it got too heavy. Now, I feel I am ready to give this story another chance.
King of Flames by Kathryn Ann Kingsley
King of Flames by Kathryn Ann Kingsley is a fantasy romance book. It’s the first book of the Masks of Under series. The story is set in the fictional world of the Under. There is magic in this world, a ceremony of the fall. Lydia is chosen by the ancients for the ceremony and suddenly finds herself taken from Earth to a new land. Aon, a mysterious stranger, keeps showing up in her dreams. He warns her that he is dangerous and villainous, yet she is drawn to him. The connection between them begins a game of cat and mouse amongst his rival, and now, her life is in danger. This book is a dark fantasy romance that I found on KU. It seems interesting, though I am a skeptic of the long series. I am completely intrigued by it.
