Currently Reading (December ’24). #TheBaronsdemons #NetGalley

My reading list for the month of December.

The Baron’s Demons by Erin Elle.

I received a copy of The Baron’s Demons by Erin Elle from NetGalley. Julia Woodrow doesn’t have much going on for her. Her father is cruel, and her mother disappeared years ago; Juila is left to fend for herself. A sudden encounter leads to an unexpected proposal from Gabriel, Baron of Arevale. He is cold yet intriguing, a way for Julia to escape her current situation. Things are not what they seem either with Gabriel or his ancient estate at Deringham. The things that intrigued me about this book is the blend of fantasy, supernatural, and romance in a historical setting.

Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin.

Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin is the first book of her fantasy and romance (romantasy) series serpent & dove. The story follows Louise le Blanc, who fled to Cesarine years ago, and a chasseur, Reid Diggory. The war between the witches and the Church is at its peak, and Louise and Reid are forced to get married due to an unforeseen situation. Now, they have to navigate the world around them and learn about each other. I end up enjoying almost all of the romantasy books I read, and I hope this won’t be an exception. This book has been on my TBR for a while now, and I am glad to finally start reading.

Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne.

Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne is an adventure novel. The story follows Phileas Fogg, an English gentleman. One night at his reform club, Fogg bets his companions that he can travel the world in eighty days. He sets off the next day with his valet to begin his travels. I remember reading an illustrated version of this story in school, but I can’t recall half of what happened. So, it is a kind of re-read for me.
