Currently Reading (October ’24). #TheCruelDark #NetGalley

My reading list for the month of October.

The Cruel Dark by Bea Northwick.

I received a copy of The Cruel Dark by Bea Northwick from NetGalley which is a gothic romance and mystery novel. The Cruel Dark follows Millicent Foxboro, a woman who has lost a couple of years of her memories and is still coming to terms with the past she remembers. Millicent doesn’t have a lot of prospects for jobs, so she is surprised when she is chosen to work as a research assistant for a professor, Callum Hughes. The book is a gothic romance with suspense elements that immediately piqued my interest. I can’t wait to start reading it.

Twisted Hate by Ana Huang.

Twisted Hate by Ana Huang is the third book of Huang’s Twisted series. I loved reading Twisted Love and Twisted Games. Twisted Hate follows Jules and Josh’s romance and love story. These two characters have been introduced in the previous books, and Jules’s character is kind of a mystery to me. This spicy enemies-to-lovers romance is an anticipated read for me. I have been pacing myself with this series, and this is the second last book. I am excited to read it finally.

The Three Strangers by Thomas Hardy.

The Three Strangers is a short story by Thomas Hardy. I have been fascinated and intimidated by Thomas Hardy’s works. I feel this short story will help me decide if I can comprehend and actually read Hardy’s writing. The Three Strangers discusses the events of three knocks on the door by three strangers during a party. I am quite excited to read this short story.
