My reading list for the month of August.
Knight of the Goddess (Blood of the Fae #4) by Briar Boleyn.
I received a copy of Knight of the Goddess by Briar Boleyn from NetGalley. This book is the last installment of the fantasy fae series Blood of the Fae by Briar Boleyn. I absolutely loved the previous three books – Queen of Roses, Court of Claws, and Empress of Fae. The third book in a way ended the Arthurian retelling. This dark fantasy fae book will continue Morgan and Draven’s story now that Arthur is defeated. I can’t wait to read it.
After Twenty Years by O’Henry.
I love reading O’Henry’s short stories. I picked After Twenty Years quite randomly but its blurb is fascinating. The story is about two friends who grow up together but decide to go on different paths as young adults. They make a promise to each other to meet again after twenty years at a restaurant where they last met. This story is part of the same anthology, Four Million, that The Gift of the Magi is part of. It has made me more intrigued to read it.
Twisted Love (Twisted #1) by Ana Huang.
Twisted Love by Ana Huang is the first book of the Twisted series. The story follows Ava Chen and her brother’s best friend, Alex Volkov. Ava’s brother is leaving on a voluntary mission for months and asks his best friend Alex to look after his sister. Ava and Alex have known each other for years but now find themselves in close proximity. I am a little late in reading the series; it was everywhere last year on Instagram. Now that I am not seeing this book pop up all the time, I feel like reading it. It has a lot of tropes that I tend to like, so I am excited to read.
