My reading list for the month of January.
Descended by Ingrid J. Adams.
I received a copy of Descended by Ingrid J. Adams from NetGalley. The book is a young adult fantasy and romance novel that is set in the 90’s. Indigo is a popular kid in the school with famous parents. But he has secrets no one knows about. Cordelia is different from anyone he has met before, and they just click. When circumstances separate them, Indigo is thrown into a world where he has to find himself and the power within him. Cordelia is the girl he is destined to love and lose life after life unless this time he can make a change. Its whole premise is extremely intriguing, and I can’t wait to read it.
The Lottery Ticket by Anton Chekhov.
The Lottery Ticket by Anton Chekhov is a short story. I have read a few of Chekhov’s stories now and always found them fascinating. I think this one isn’t going to be any different. The story focuses on a couple Dmitri and Masha, who have bought a lottery ticket. Dmitri checks one number in the newspaper and tells his wife about it. Both of them build their hopes and imagine what they could do if they did indeed win the lottery.
Knight of Pleasure by Margaret Mallory.
I have never read Medieval Romances as such before, but I have read plenty of historical romances. I am hoping this is a genre I would like to explore too. Knight of Pleasure by Margeret Mallory is a romance novel that is the second book of the All the King’s Men series. The story focuses on Isobel Hume, who accepts an offer from the King to wed a French nobleman. Sir Stephen Carleton is a charming and admired knight. Isobel and Stephen are drawn to each other, but choosing him would mean betraying her betrothed and her King. I am a few pages in, and so far, it is keeping me hooked.
