Currently Reading (August ’23). #TheBeginningofEverything #NetGalley

My reading list for the month.

The Beginning of Everything by Jackie Fraser.

I received a copy of The Beginning of Everything by Jackie Fraser from NetGalley. The first thing that interested me about this book is that it is a friends-to-lovers story. Jess Cavendish has just got out of a bad relationship and moves away, leaving everything behind. Gethin Thomas is back in his hometown and eager to move on after the end of a long-term relationship. It follows the story of Jess and Gethin as their paths cross.

The Caged Tiger by Penny Jordon.

The Caged Tiger by Penny Jordon is a romance novel. I came across this book randomly, and it seemed interesting. It is a Mills & Boons book; I don’t remember when was the last time I read one of these books. The story focuses on estranged spouses Davina and Ruy. They got married after a whirlwind romance, but Davina leaves after giving birth to their son when she finds out Ruy was with another woman while she was in the hospital. Now, she is back in his family home with their son, but both of them have changed.

Nobody’s Story by Charles Dickens.

Nobody’s Story is a short story written by Charles Dickens. The story follows Nobody, a lower-class and extremely hard-working individual, and he and his family lead hard lives. Like many of Charles Dickens’s works, this one also discusses social issues. I have just read a page or two, but it seems to be about the struggles of the working class.
